BlockBeats News, July 11th, the U.S. Senate confirmed Jonathan Gould to lead the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, adding him to the list of Trump administration officials who support loosening regulation on national lending institutions and endorse crypto assets. The Senate approved Gould's position with 50 votes in favor and 45 votes against.

Gould previously stated that since 2008, banking regulators have sometimes tried to eliminate risk rather than manage it, hindering banks' ability to fulfill their functions. Earlier this year, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced that it would no longer review the risks associated with banks doing business with controversial clients. (BlockBeats)
