The U.S. Supreme Court has set Friday as the date to rule on the tariff issue.
BlockBeats News, January 6th, according to US media reports, the US Supreme Court has set this Friday as the day for releasing opinions, marking the first opportunity for a ruling on former President Trump's global tariff policy.
As the court's website posted the announcement, the justices are finishing a four-week break and returning to the bench. The court never reveals in advance which opinions are ready, only saying that opinions in argued cases are released when the justices take the bench at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
Given the court's expedited handling of the case so far, the tariff case is likely to be decided on that day. If the court rules against Trump, it would undermine his signature economic policy and mark his most significant legal defeat since returning to the White House.
The core dispute of the case is Trump's tariffs imposed on April 2nd, "Liberation Day" — a policy that imposed tariffs of 10% to 50% on most imported goods, citing combating fentanyl smuggling, and imposed tariffs on Canada and Mexico. (Golden Finance)
